Claire Appleseed

Got to shoot with my favorite model Claire a couple weeks ago. Arranged to shoot the shoot up at a Pennsylvania u-pick apple orchard. Such a beautiful farm up there in Amish country. Everyone should do some u-picking!  I'm sure Claire won't want to eat any apples for a while, but oh well I liked what I got.

Cleaning Out The Summer Files

Going through some files I hadn't got around to editing from early this summer. I was out shooting a musician friend of mine in the city when we a drum core passed by us. It's hard to NOT follow a drum core. So off we went into the projects and this is what we found.

Istanbul NOT Constantinople

I got the wonderful opportunity to piggy back off Jenny's airline miles and visit Europe this past month. One of our stops, Istanbul...not Constantinople. We stayed in the old part of the city, which also sort of doubled as an Aladdin amusement park. EVERYTHING was touristy. The same shirts, paintings, rugs, lamps and jewelry were sold everywhere. Everyone seemed to be a tourist from somewhere. As a photographer this was a little nightmarish. But, on the last day I ventured down to the sea surprise, surprise there were locals. Apparently Sunday is the day for men to be boys and go play down at the water. They were fishing, sun bathing, swimming, diving, riding bikes and occasionally wooing a lady.
The ladies though were sparse though and when we asked where they were we were told they were cleaning and cooking and taking care of the house of course. We were also told by a man we met that in Turkey it's a man's world. Apparently, he was a James Brown fan.
